NLRO Graduate, Alexis Chavers, is Accepted into Central State University in Ohio

The Cleveland Job Corps Center (CJCC) would like to congratulate the following students on their acceptance into Central State University (CSU) in Wilberforce, Ohio, which is a historically black college and university (HBCUs). The students began their first day of class on August 18, 2014. The desire to attend this univer-sity was sparked by a college tour hosted by CJCC in the fall of 2013. Please join us in recognizing these fantastic Cleveland Job Corps students and their achieve-ments!
Cleveland native Rashad Black enrolled in the Cleveland Job Corps Center on September 24, 2013. Mr. Black earned his High School diploma and obtained certification in Facility Maintenance. Mr. Black went on to enroll in the Off Center Training, Private Security Academy at Cuyahoga Community College, where he successfully completed the program with a 3.2 GPA. Mr. Black plans to major in Criminal Justice, as he has a strong interest in working in the professional field of Corrections.
Cleveland native Alexis Chavers enrolled in the Cleveland Job Corps Center on November 5, 2013. Ms. Chavers earned her high school diploma and obtained her State Tested Nurse Aide certifi-cation. Ms. Chavers plans to major in Business.
Lima, Ohio’s Demarco Glenn enrolled in Cleveland Job Corps Center on July 30, 2013. Mr. Glenn earned his high school diploma and obtained certification in Medical Office Support. Mr. Glenn went on to enroll in the Off Center Training, Private Security Academy at Cuyahoga Communi-ty College, where he successfully completed the program with a 3.5 GPA. Mr. Glenn then decided to go directly into the Advanced Career Training, during the summer 2014, where he successfully completed the semester with a 3.0 GPA. Mr. Glenn plans to major in Social Work as it is his long-term goal of becoming a Social Worker, and work with at-risk youths.
Cleveland native Deliska Williams enrolled in the Cleveland Job Corps Center on August 27, 2013. Ms. Williams earned her GED and obtained her Clinical Medical Assistant certification. Ms. Williams plans to major in Social Work, her goal is to work with children and families.
